This multi-family house was built around 1925 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. A renovation was performed in 2002. Through at least 1925, this house was addressed as 10-12 Holton Street. The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows George Wattendorf as the owner of the empty lot where this house was built. The 1925 City Directory lists Arthur Hopkins, a bookkeeper; and Edmund Hopkins, a student, as residents of 12 Oliva. In 1930 part of this house was rented for $45 a month by Renee Dumine, a 37-year from New Hampshire who manufactured thread gauges. Renee lived in 10 Oliva with his 36-year old wife Elizabeth and their 3-year old son Renee. 12 Olive was rented for $45 a month by James Coleman, a 47-year old supervisor in a public school. James lived with his 35-year old wife Mary and their two children: 14-year old Fred and 6-year old Marjorie. |
