Through at least 1925, this house was addressed as 9-11 Holton Street.

The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows George Wattendord as the owner of the empty lot where this house was built.

The 1925 City Directory lists John Mannix, a manager; and William Mannix, a purchasing agent, as residents of this house.

In 1930 part of this house was rented for $45 a month by Rose Bowen, a 60-year old widow. Rose lived in 9 Oliva with her two daughters: 31-year old Grace, secretary in a law office; and 30-year old Ernestine, a telephone operator. 11 Oliva was rented for $45 a month by Marcus Madden, a 33-year old Boston policeman. Marcus lived with his 28-year old wife Julia and their two children: 4-year old Mary and 1-year old Marcus Junior.
